| It was the summer of 2003 and MP3.com's active message board community was heating up as well -- with flame wars.
Along came Chaz Fanaro, looking to cut through the negative noise. He began to interview many of the musical artists who pitched a tent on the popular indie music forum. Others pitched in with questions of their own. July of 2003 could have turned ugly, but thanks to the interviews blanketing the forum, it became a home for insight and mutual respect.
The forums were wiped clean by Vivendi in December, 2003. The interviews live on.

What are some of your favorite musicians?

I'm asked that a lot and you know it's always hard to pick favorites. I guess growing up in a time when big haired metal bands were doing the scene I would have to say Eddie "Van Halen", Mick Mars "motley Crue", George lynch "dokken", Kind of weird because I don't really play that style of music today. These days I like Leeny Kravitz, Joe Satriani, Slash "GNR" to name a few..but always go back to my old favorites to listen to their techniques. I'm still learning and I guess I will forever want to learn new chops..

What is your goal and what are you planning for your music?

Thank god for the net..Right now I'm in the middle of starting my own label. (Ascend Records)..Should be up and running by fall/03. I'm also currently forming a new band and will be heading back to the studio. I'm also trying to pitch as many songs as possible for film/Tv sups..
