The Chaz Interviews - July, 2003
by Chaz and the MP3.com artists

It was the summer of 2003 and MP3.com's active message board community was heating up as well -- with flame wars. Along came Chaz Fanaro, looking to cut through the negative noise. He began to interview many of the musical artists who pitched a tent on the popular indie music forum. Others pitched in with questions of their own. July of 2003 could have turned ugly, but thanks to the interviews blanketing the forum, it became a home for insight and mutual respect. The forums were wiped clean by Vivendi in December, 2003. The interviews live on.

I got my first guitar when I was 10 but didn´t play it untill I was 16, where I made my first songs. Since then I´ve made around 30 songs and all the loose bits that were never finished. All songs featuring on mp3.com were made inbetween 1996-2000. At present I´m recording new material along with a friend........Also a track for a forth comming film...well....enough said :-)

You say you got a guirat at 11 but didn't play until 16, how did you first become interested in music?

karla Mi
HaLoOOO!
This is fun!
ehhh, When I was 5 I got my first tape recorder and I recorded all the music programs on telly at the time (from the telly speakers)I bought my first album when I was 9 and when I was 10 my granfather gave me one of his guitars for my birthday. I sing all the time, not always loud, mostly to myself, when i'm going somewhere or waiting for something, -this I noticed quite early, making songs on the playground, in the car, school etc.....BUT it took several years MEN before I really got into making my own songs public.
When I was 16 I had a boyfriend who thought he was hendrix/clapton/drake and well he played...nice enough....lol...
He went on a school trip for a week and whilst he was away I decided that I wanted to learn a couple of chords...enough for one cover song...
thats how I began playing.
I didn't really start producing song after song untill
I returned to Denmark from the UK in 96.....and the math didn't grap me untill around 2000....
anyway....lol....loooong story......ZZzzzz....
- Guess I've always been interested in music one way or the other...
