The Chaz Interviews - July, 2003
by Chaz and the MP3.com artists

It was the summer of 2003 and MP3.com's active message board community was heating up as well -- with flame wars. Along came Chaz Fanaro, looking to cut through the negative noise. He began to interview many of the musical artists who pitched a tent on the popular indie music forum. Others pitched in with questions of their own. July of 2003 could have turned ugly, but thanks to the interviews blanketing the forum, it became a home for insight and mutual respect. The forums were wiped clean by Vivendi in December, 2003. The interviews live on.

REvGhoUL

Artist description
A musical representation of humanity's innermost dark tendencies. The goal here is to create that same feeling of dread that such horror classics as "Night of the Living Dead","The Omen", and "The Exorcist" conjured up when you first saw them. Feeding off the macabre interests that everyone has, but few admit to, REvGhoUL is an extention of mankind's demons.

Music Style
Black Industrial

Musical Influences
Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse Alice Cooper, King Diamond, Celtic Frost, Venom, Rob Zombie, KMFDM, Skinny Puppy...

Similar Artists
Samael, Alice Cooper, Obituary, Rob Zombie, Skinny Puppy, Ministry...

Group Members
All instruments, programming, vocals, and production by one man!

Instruments
B.C. Rich Warlock (Both Guitar and Bass) and lots of imagination.

Press Reviews
"The king of Industrial Black Metal!!!!" -SwampJaw (www.swampjaw.com)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Excellent use of low-pitch vibrations. (these are the Best to induce trance-like qualities and for future mind Messing of the listeners) I love the dark brooding feel Of your music..." -Duane Perry Beyond the Shattered Mirror (www.mp3.com/beyond tsm) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Black Industrial...makes Ministry look like p*****!!!" -Lesser Known (www.lesserknownzone.com) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Finally. A band on mp3 who claims to be industrial and doesn't sound like Depeche Mode! He lists Rob Zombie as an influence and if you can't hear it you must be friggin DEAF! I chose Dwellers because I especially liked the chilling style of vocal background layer and effect, as well as pounding riff inserts..What does that mean? Go back and listen to the Dragula Remix, or any of the Fear Factory Remixes. Lots of flow and power. But If you (as a listener) like Fear Factory Remixes or Zombie Remixes check his page out by all means. I give it a big nod and thank the Pittsburgh gods that there is something out there besides the drab drivel of whiny puss vomiteers who are one step removed from glamwannabe." -Ron GeneticMishap (www.geneticmishap.com) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Dark brooding industrial" -NoLongerMortal (www.mp3.com/nolomgermortal)

Chaz the Spaz

Chaz the Spaz
What are your goals and what do you have planned for your music?

revghoul
How do you describe the vocals in your music?
An orgy of demons.

revghoul
How did you first become interested in music?
I was born.

revghoul
What are your goals and what do you have planned for your music?
My goals were simple, sell a few CDs independantly, without being commercial, I HATE commercial music as well as the majors. I've done that, now I just do it for me.

swebby
Hi Rev, As before...would you ever consider doing a more traditional drum/bass rock track ? Hope you liked the page..guess you didnt see my post a few days back.

revghoul
Not DnB, but rock, metal, or deathrock yes. Not as REvGhoUL though. RG is a solo project.
Well, I bookmarked your site, I like.

swebby
Thats interesting , After my collab with Bowie ( joke) I'll have to fly over and do a dark rock song with Rev ! Glad you like the site. I hope to add more and do more as time allows. I'm new to webstuff, so I was pleased with my first trys ! I'm glad you 'like'.
Hope it causes further interest in you as an artist.

Chaz the Spaz
Do you like garlic?

Chaz the Spaz
How did you decide on the name REvGhoUL?

swebby
Chaz. "do you like Garlic ?'...ha ha....
I wonder ?

Chaz the Spaz
Ste, I surely do, I love the stuff, but I don't eat as much as I should. I put raw garlic on pizza, in salads, on French bread with salt and olive oil. Garlic is a wonderfully heathy plant that has been proven to fight infection and help reduce poisons in the body.
