It was the summer of 2003 and MP3.com's active message board community was heating up as well -- with flame wars.
Along came Chaz Fanaro, looking to cut through the negative noise. He began to interview many of the musical artists who pitched a tent on the popular indie music forum. Others pitched in with questions of their own. July of 2003 could have turned ugly, but thanks to the interviews blanketing the forum, it became a home for insight and mutual respect.
The forums were wiped clean by Vivendi in December, 2003. The interviews live on.

We all know Swannie as one of the non-musician artists that grace their presence on these boards.
Now you can ask her questions too.
Chaz the Spaz
Swannie, where can we find your artwork on-line? And what are you currently working on?
Olkee
Swannie, have you ever writen music or painted something inspired directly from or because of a person's actions?
SwanRising
I am very happy to say that some of my work is at the BRITISH VISIONARY ARTISTS GROUP WEBORAMA site
http://www.web-orama.com/art/art/swan/swan.htm
and that I am listed as an EMERGING artist at the Vaults of EROWID
I have a Cafe Press Visionary and Celestial art site too
http://www.cafeshops.com/swansvisionart
but strangely enough right now I am writing poetry and using my voice for spoken word with music accompaniment ..which is a surprise for me!!!
and Chaz thank you for your kind attention and all the really cooooooool interviews they are fun and are bringing some semblance of real communication back to this pitiful place called a bbs......

Just thought I would pop in and say hi. "HI"
For every one else, I was so inspired by Swannies work that we are considering using "Starwoman" on the Perception CD cover.
Have a good one all

Your artwork is freakin' great and it's always a pleasure to see it. Now you say you are working on spoken word to music. Could you elaborate? Are you playing the music?
SwanRising
HEY LES!!!!! no I am not playing any music ....
I just started doing a few voice promos for some people on internet radio..... and they like my voice ..
and I did some more .. and some people put them to music, Jeff Straub, did one , and now someone wants me to recite my poetry and they will provide the music ... and some other narrative things .... I am excited.....its FUN....
and AS SOON as I get the mp3 available on my site I will be happy to provide a link ...
I have used my voice professionally for years .. for healing; and I could do an entire progressive relaxation without even stopping to think ...but I never thought to use it for "FUN" ...
and NO MATTER what BOOG says I am not going to say OH BABY OH BABY .......LOL

What is your favorite type of music, and which musicians do you like the most?
SwanRising
My favorite types of music .....I would have to say are (INDIE hehehe ) Classical, like Stu Mitchell and ambient like Palancar ..
doest matter if they are electronica symphonic etc etc .....I like movement in music ; music that takes you and lifts you from where you were......
takes you on a journey and when you have finished hearing it you want to repeat the journey .. and you are not in the same place you were before ..... that may be because I did dance ballet and still am a dancer of sorts ....so I tend to think of music in a choreography context. but I think music is also a deeply emotionally moving experience and can be emotionally healing .
But dont get me wrong ..... I LOVE ROCK N ROLL PUT ANOTHER DIME IN THE JUKE BOX BABY .....I LOVE ROCK I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
scuse me ?? did you hear me say I LOVE ROCK ??? I ABSOLUTELY UN ABASHEDLY LOVE ROCK and cant live without it LOL.....
The truth is... there is almost NO MUSIC I DONT LIKE ,
I love female vocalists like PattI Sterling and Glenda Rae are my two current favorites ..and early blues like Robert Johnson I love everything from primitive tribal drumming to classical chinese erhu, and everything in between .
Thanks for asking
